The founder, Marc van der Schee, was building a unified AI security platform to protect GenAI applications, ML pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. The company was still operating in stealth, with no public brand and no existing pitch materials, and needed an investor deck to support seed round conversations.
There was no brand book or logo to start from. The founder pointed to a handful of category references, Lakera and Aim Security for tone, Wiz and Upwind for layout and structure, and asked for a look that read as modern, enterprise-grade, and slightly futuristic without leaning on gimmicks. The first draft was due within three days of kickoff.
The deck had to make a technical, fast-moving category understandable to investors who might not be steeped in AI or cloud security. The founder wanted the platform positioned as covering the full AI lifecycle, from development through deployment, rather than a single point solution, a distinction that needed to come through visually, not just in the copy.
Since there was no brand to work from, the team built a one-page brand guideline first, logo treatment, a blue and black color system, and typography, so the deck would be visually consistent and reusable for future materials. From there, the team developed the deck's core visual language: a build-to-serve lifecycle diagram, a shield motif to carry the security narrative, and a competitive comparison table. When the founder flagged that one slide read as too text-heavy, the team replaced it with a visual lifecycle diagram in the next revision.
The founder approved the first draft with only messaging-level notes, most notably the request to visualize the AI lifecycle instead of describing it in text. That change, along with a second round of smaller revisions, was enough to get the deck signed off with no further structural changes needed. The finished deck was delivered ready for investor meetings.
